Something is happening to me that I don't understand.

I see things, feel things in a new way. I can do things normal people can't do. Powerful things. Magical things. It scares me.

I never chose to learn witchcraft. But I'm starting to wonder if witchcraft is choosing me.

Book of Shadows is the first book in the Sweep series. Morgan is getting ready to start her junior year of high school as normal until the mysterious Cal shows up. Cal is planning a party, and all the girls are basically drooling over the poor guy especially because he takes interest in multiple girls. But little do they know, he is trying to put together a circle to do magick. No one really takes it truly serious as real witchcraft, except for Morgan because well reasons that you’ll find out about! Morgan’s best friend Bree begins treating her like total crap because of, well spoilers haha. It is shocking how mean she can be! It has a little bit of a Mean Girls vibe with a touch of The Secret Circle. I’m currently on book four so some of the stuff/drama that happens has blended together with all the books so I am trying to not spoil anything for you because I can’t remember when things happened exactly!

These books are superrrr short, most are just under 200 pages. These would be perfect for a readathon or to catch up on your reading goals. I am actually loving the series way more than I thought I would. The drama and craziness is quite addicting. They are cheesy, angst filled typical ya books. But hey who doesn’t love some cheese every now and then? And the parents are actually involved…that doesn’t happen much with ya!!

I think my favorite part of the series is how it seems like real witchcraft/Wicca like it could seriously make people want to learn more about Wicca in general. It isn’t full of “way out there” situations if you know what I mean. I’m not sure how much of the details are actually true, but the author shows how similar Wicca and Christianity are which is kind of interesting in of itself. I personally don’t believe in magic/magick but I could see these books sparking curiousity.

The Sweep series are just fun witchy books that can be read in a day! They were perfect for the 24 hour readathon last month!
