The Christmas Song Book Tag is so festive for the holidays I couldn’t help myself but to participate in it. This tag is an original Booktube tag, but I decided to do it on the blog anyways because why not. It was created by Hailey in Bookland so you guys should go check out her video. As always when I do tags, if you want to do it than your officially tagged by me. Just leave a link in the comments so I can check it out!
1. “You’re a Mean One Mr. Grinch”
Name a villainous character you couldn’t help but love.
Warner is a messed up character but you can’t help but love him when you learn more about him.
2. “All I Want for Christmas is You”
Which book do you most hope to see under your Christmas tree?
Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth. So I felt burned by the Divergent series, however, people are saying this is her best book yet. Plus it sounds super fascinating! I know it doesn’t come out until January though so I won’t have my copy for Christmas. ;)
3. “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer”
Name a character that overcomes major obstacles and learns to believe in themselves.
Laia starts off as weak and the Commandant takes huge advantage of this. But as the story progresses she starts gaining more confidence in herself. It is hands down one of my favorite ya books!
4. “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”
a) Which character do you think would be on the top of the naughty list?
I’m going to cheat a tad (since I haven’t read the books) and choose Damon from Vampire Diairies. Damon is the definition of naughty. You can’t do more naughty than him haha.
b) Which character do you think would be at the top of the nice list?
Bruiser is a selfless character, he takes peoples’ pain so they don’t have to suffer. He deserves to get all the gifts under the tree.
5. “Frosty the Snowman”
Which book just melts your heart.
The Fault in Our Stars is one of the few “sad” books I’ve read, but the story just melts your heart into a big puddle.
6. “Feliz Navidad”
Choose a book that takes place in a country other than your own.
Even though I haven’t read it yet, I choose The Book Thief. It is based in Germany. I know I would love it but I know it is gonna be sad and depressing so I’ve been putting it off.
7. “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year”
Which holiday themed book do you use to spread the Christmas joy?
I don’t read many holiday themed books but Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares is cute and festive.
8. “Sleigh Ride”
Which fictional character would you choose to spend the holidays with (doesn’t have to be a love interest!)
I’d choose Hermione Granger for two reasons. One because she is just the best, and two it would be so magical to hang out with her at Hogwarts during the holidays.
9. “Baby it’s Cold Outside”
Which book that you didn’t like would you sacrifice to a fire to warm yourself up in the cold?
I would sacrifice Three Dark Crowns. I think it is the most disappointing ya fantasy I’ve read in a while. It didn’t live up to the hype for me.
10. “Do you hear what I hear”
Which book do you think everyone should read?
Between Shades of Gray is about the brutal conditions of people during WW11. It is sad but I think everyone should give this one a chance. It was for sure out of my comfort zone of what I typically read, but it will stay with me forever!
