The Secret Life of a Book Blogger

I haven’t done a tag in ages, so let’s do a tag about book blogging because why nottttt. I’d love to see your answers as well, so let me know if you decide to do the tag. I found this tag on My Little Book Blog. I wasn’t tagged or anything but wanted to do it anyways that is just how I roll haha.

How long have you been a blogger?

I started blogging in February of 2014 starting with a free wordpress.com site. I loved it from the start so I decided to move over to self hosting. I can’t believe I have been doing this for 3 years! But, you know, time flies when you are having fun.

At what point do you think you’ll stop blogging?

I’m not sure. I may take (too many) breaks, not blog as much, or not be a social butterfly on social media like I once was but the blog is still my baby that I’ve put tons of work into. I can’t see letting it go anytime soon. So I’ve learned to blog as a hobby to keep it stress free and fun! It took me a long while feeling guilty to get to this point. ;)

What is the best thing about blogging?

The PEOPLE!

Everyone of you who read what I have to say are just awesome. Many of you have been with me since the very beginning while I was learning the ropes and I love the friendships that has come from blogging. Plus it is just fun sharing my opinions and thoughts on books!

What is the worst thing? What do you do to make it ok?

I think the worst thing is the drama. Sometimes there is a bad apple in the bunch that really stirs things up in the community. Even just on Goodreads it happens. Basically I just ignore it (for the most part), and go about my way.

How long does it take to make/find pictures to use?

It only takes me a couple of minutes to make pictures. I spend some time regularly making/finding pictures to use so all I need is a little editing for a certain blog post.

What do you wear when you write blog posts?

99.9998% of the time I wear my PJ’s. Blogging and PJ’s go together!

How long does it take to prepare?

I gotta be honest, I rarely plan out a post. I typically get an idea and boom I write it right then and there. Like now, I was feeling a tag. The only time I plan is during Blogmas. Planning helps so much but ehhh I work better under pressure I think lol.

How do you feel about the book blogger community?

Bookg bloggers are the most awesome people on earth, of course! Sure there can be some disagreeing, and some drama but the community is the best! That is why I am still here after 3 years. <3

What do you think one should do to get a successful blog?

Blog in such a way that keeps it fun for you. My top tip to be successful is to keep it as something you enjoy. Once it becomes a chore…it is all down hill from there.
